4 Lindiwe

Today I did something I have been wanting to do for years. I sponsered my first child with World Vision!

Lindiwe is a Hope Child living in an area of Zimbabwe affected by the aids crisis.

Curtis and I were all chocked up when I pushed the button to confirm our donation and were snapping photos with our phones of her little picture on the screen. To last us until we get our picture that will take up permanent residence on our fridge, I'm sure.

Today, all day, the Lord kept whispering to me, "Do not be afraid." and to me, this means more than you may know or understand. He knows just what I need to hear and in response to hearing his voice and realizing his love and grace towards me I didn't need to feel "called" to act on it, I just did. Maybe you do know the impact of a whisper from Jesus and if you do you should never be afraid to act on it...not afraid of what people may think or say or even about how it will impact you financially. Forgiveness is the pay-off, mercy is the profit, love is the return!

I'm posting the link to World Vision's website in case this inspires you to sponser a child as well!

Love, BC

p.s. I sponsered a child from Zimbabwe because my lovely friend Rita Springer does work with World Vision and has been given the children in Zimbabwe to find sponsers for through her ministry! If you would like to do this as well here is the link to her website. http://www.ritaspringer.com/

I decided last summer to sponsor a child (with Compassion International) even though I really wasn't sure I could afford to do it for very long. The day after I signed up to sponsor, I got a raise at work and my mom, being the accountant that she is, did the math, and the increase per month was exactly the amount it costs each month to sponsor my child! God is so good! Isn't it such an amazing feeling to know that you're able to feed into the life of a child that you've never even met?

Miss you, Buffie!!!
